Grand Prix breaks silence!

The Shrine of Remembrance reserve is set in a vast area of parkland known as The Kings Domain. There are many trees, Shrubs, ornamental flower beds and large areas of manicured grass lawns. The wildlife consists of many types of Australian native birds, bats, possums & other small rodents.

Because of it's location, which borders on Melbourne's city limits, The Shrine of Remembrance reserve is a peaceful, quiet place to come and reflect on the horrors of modern warfare and remember the many Australians that have fought for our freedom.

WELL NOT AT THE MOMENT IT'S NOT !!

During this week the F1 racing cars of the Australian Grand Prix 2006, can be heard screaming around nearby Albert Park Lake. Before the big race on Sunday, the drivers are putting the 'pedal to the metal' in an attempt to qualify for a top grid position at the start of the race.

Even when inside the Shrine , listening to the playing of 'The last post', the constant noise of the high powered V8 engines can be heard penetrating the walls!
